At the Morning Watch…Political Postings

The original purpose of this blog was not political, however, in these uneasy days it is difficult to separate our faith from the political climate.  Knowing the God is in control and resting in that knowledge is absolutely necessary.  At the same time Christians must be aware of what is going on in our world and why.

Recently, I listened to a fascinating interview with former White House economist and budget analyist, James Simpson, on Crosstalk.  He has written an excellent series of articles on Barack Obama’s economics.   While I was aware of some of the connections that Simpson mentions, like Saul Alinsky, I was shocked to find out how involved Obama was with other Radical Leftist groups.  Originally posted at American Thinker, Brannon Howse of Worldview Weekend has linked to all three articles here, here and here.

Yesterday, President Obama signed an executive order creating the White House Council on Women and Girls.  According to Voice of America, Obama wants to make clear that areas like equal pay, family leave and child care are not just women’s issues but that they are family and economic issues.”   Unfortunately, the woman who were invited to the signing of this executive order only represented organizations from the far left of the political spectrum.  Here’s just a few feminists that were present at the signing:  Nancy Keenan from NARAL, Mara Keisling of the National Center for Transgender Equality, and Laurie Rubiner of Planned Parenthood.  You get the picture.  This council will only be representing SOME women’s issues, definitely NOT conservative women’s concerns.  You can read the entire list here

I would like to give a big YEEHAW to South Carolina Governor Mark Sanford and Texas Governor Rick Perry who are STANDING FIRM by rejecting some or all of  Obama’s so-called ‘stimulus’ money.   Giving reasons such as “spending a bunch of money we don’t have,”  and “the money would come with too many strings attached,”  these governors are to be commended for these tough decisions.  Reports can be read here and here.

“And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.”
Ephesians 5:11
